Welcome to Blackwell Digital Design! We specialize in creating PowerPoint presentations from 35mm slides and x-rays. We have scanned hundreds of dental slides and are pleased that you are interested in our services. We also incorporate text and photographs (film or digital) into PowerPoint presentations as needed. How it works - Scanning
Our job is to help you convert your 35mm slides into high quality PowerPoint presentations. We do this by taking the 35mm slides and scanning them with a Nikon CoolScan IV ED slide scanner. Each slide is scanned as a 4000dpi TIF file (industry standard for high resolution images) to ensure an exceptional final product. The images are then digitally restored using Nikon's ICE cubed system, correcting for dust and scratches, fading and the grain of the slide. Manual digital editing is performed to correct the color of each image, sharpen the image as a whole and remove any imperfections the detract from the image quality. These edited slides are saved as high quality JPEG files, maintaining image quality while reducing file size, leading to faster running PowerPoint presentations.
How it works - PowerPoint
The PowerPoint presentation is created from the edited JPEG images of your original slides. The images of text slides, however, are not used in the presentation. Instead, each text slide is typed with a similar layout to the original 35mm slide and can include animation, if desired. The default style for presentations is like this page, a blue background with white writing. If you provide a background image or specific style you would like to use it can easily be substituted, free of charge. Also, slides are scanned in the order they are received, so if you have a specific sequence please arrange them. (Slide presentations that alternate between multiple carousels are not a problem, but instructions are requested.)
Once your PowerPoint presentation is completed, it, as well as the JPEG images of your slides, will be sent back on a CD or DVD.
